What is Harry Potter's Personality Type?

Harry Potter- ISFP

Introvert- Harry doesn't engage with his overwhelming fame. He doesn't seem to require attention and it seems like he gets energy from being alone.

Sensing- Harry prefers to go out and try things himself rather than theorize about what could happen. He lives in the moment and sometimes acts impulsively.

Feeling- Harry prioritizes the people he loves over anything else. He makes rash choices for them and he is very protective of his friends and loved ones.

Prospecting- He is quite spontaneous and reckless. He isn't very focused or driven. He constantly searches for new opportunities, rather than carefully thinking and planning things out.

Now let's look at the functions of an ISFP.

Harry Potter

Dominant Fi - Harry's dominant function is Introverted Feeling. To quote wellandgood.com, "Introverted Feeling is a function concerned with authenticity, individualism, and values." Harry certainly values his individualism, sometimes being a bit stubborn in his ways. Also from wellandgood.com, "They are often outspoken activists, and love to help those in need." As I mentioned, Harry is protective of his loved ones and will do anything for them. He will even go so far as to sacrifice himself for the people he loves.

Auxiliary Se - Harry's auxiliary (or secondary) function is Extroverted Sensing. Extroverted Sensors are all about interacting with the world around them. They tend to be very active, and they are extremely observant. They interact with the world through their senses, trusting what they can see, hear, smell, touch, and taste. I would say that Harry utilizes this function often. It pairs with his Dominant Fi well - He acts impulsively (Se) because of his personal beliefs and emotions, and especially his loved ones.

Tertiary Ni - Harry's tertiary (or third) function is Introverted Intuition. This is the function that the ISFP uses often, but not quite as often as the first two. It may be underdeveloped. Ni is all about reaching conclusions without knowing how you got there. The ISFP's inner world is probably quite creative and imaginative. You might think that this function would be put off by the ISFP's auxiliary Se, but that is not so, because Se is how the ISFP interacts with the world, whereas Ni is one of their subconscious functions. It's how their inner world works.

Inferior Te - Harry's inferior (or last) function is Extroverted Thinking. This is the ISFP's least developed function, and usually only shows itself when ISFPs are under intense pressure or stress. Te outwardly conveys thoughts using logic, reason, and a clear analysis of how they get to the conclusions that they do. Usually, ISFPs take their time with decisions, pondering what would be best in relation to their values and the things they are passionate about. But when their Te emerges, they can make logical decisions quickly, based off of what makes sense, not what necessarily makes them happy. When ISFPs feel strongly about a subject (Fi) they can tap into their logical, commanding side (Te) to stand up for their values.
